OnePlus Says We Will Stop Collecting Our Customers Private Detailed Data


Could this be a means of monitoring there users? It has come to the public notice that OnePlus has been collecting their Private and detailed information from their device which ranges from serial number, IMEI number, MAC addresses, as well as mobile network names and Wi-Fi SSIDs.

In A New statement from the company responding to the issue of transmitting users information, The company responded saying the data is transmitted securely and is used to fine tune their software according to user behavior. They also provided a way through which this data sharing can be turned off.




The co-founder "Carl Pie" also emphasis more on the issue saying that the information collected have never been shared with a Third-Parties but he went futher to confirm that the company will no longer be collecting information such as telephone numbers, MAC Addresses, and WiFi information.


He Furthered on by saying that all OxygenOS-powered OP phones "will have a prompt in the setup wizard that asks users if they want to join our user experience program. The setup wizard will clearly indicate that the program collects usage analytics."

 In Addition, the company will include a terms of service agreement, further explaining their analytics collection. All these changes are expected to come in effect by October end.
